Annual Dinner Dance – Saturday, November 10, 2018 – Metropole Hotel
Reminder that the Annual Dinner Dance is on in the Metropole Hotel on Saturday November 10th. This years theme is “VEGAS”. Tickets are allocated on a first come first served basis so don’t delay as they are selling out fast and are available from the Cafe any weekend or ask any committee member or coach.
April Social Engagements
Please support 2 of our upcoming social events in the Club.
The Boat Club Annual Family Table Quiz is being held in the Club next Friday night (April 6th) at 7.30 PM. A team entry of four costs €40. This is one of the Club’s great social events. All are welcome including athletes, parents and friends. A Tuck shop and refreshments will be available on the night.
The President’s Dinner, hosted by our current President John McCarthy, will be held on Friday 20 April in the Docklands Restaurant (formerly Club Brasserie) at a cost of €50 per head.

Ergothon 2018
We’ll be running an Ergothon fundraiser in the club on St. Patrick’s day. We’ll be looking to start at midday, with rowing finished by 2/2:30. We’ll split all athletes into groups on the day and people will row different distances depending on age/experience, etc. The bar will be open afterwards, showing the Ireland/England 6 nations game at 2:45.
Parents are all welcome to come down, there’ll be a BBQ ongoing as well, with cafe operating throughout the day. Evan will be putting up posters around the club this evening as a reminder to everyone.
Everyone’s support with this would be greatly appreciated, and if you have any questions just let me know. I’ll be around this evening and Saturday morning if anyone needs sponsorship cards, just let me know when your squad is down.

Calendar 2018
The 2018 Club Calendar is available for sale in the cafe any weekend or from club coaches and committee members.
It has photos from last Season as well as the dates of all rowing events for this season so a perfect addition to anyone’s home or office.
We now post them overseas also so if you’d like a piece of CBC art for your wall, let us know and we’ll arrange shipment.
2017-2018 Membership
2017/2018 Cork Boat Club Membership is now live. Just Click on the Membership Portal.
If it is your first year as an adult rower you must register as an Associate Member.
Don’t forget to pay your Rowing Ireland Levy and Boat Storage fees also! No membership, No Boat Storage!
Pay your membership before October 8th and one lucky member will be refunded their membership fee!
President Gerry Buckley RIP
As a mark of respect recognizing the loss of our Club President Gerry Buckley RIP, the club will remain closed tomorrow Tuesday 11th July.
On a separate matter during the Championships next Fri/Sat/Sun, we each have an opportunity to commemorate Gerry’s passing ourselves with the wearing of a black ribbon for Athletes on their racing kit. The Committee are making the necessary arrangements to provide us with the ribbons. This will be a fitting gesture to the family of a club stalwart and to mark his passing.
