Club Open Day – Saturday Sept 1st – Blackrock Village

We are holding an open day in the club on Saturday September 1st at 11am where you will get to meet the Captain and coaches and also get a tour of the facilities. Why not drop in and check it out. We will be there to answer any of your questions.

Why Rowing:

  • When done properly, rowing uses about 85% of the muscles in your body. In one workout you have effectively worked you upper and lower body as well as your core.
  • Rowing provides resistance training which builds stronger bones and muscles.
  • Rowing challenges your aerobic and anaerobic systems for a well-rounded cardio workout.
  • This low impact exercise makes it a great choice for people with joint issues.
  • You can burn up to 800 calories per hour (maybe more) making it a great workout for weight loss and fat burning.
  • Rowing is a full-body, multi-joint workout that can help increase your flexibility and mobility.
  • A rowing workout is adjustable making it great for all fitness levels.

Ergothon 2018

Ergothon 2018

We’ll be running an Ergothon fundraiser in the club on St. Patrick’s day. We’ll be looking to start at midday, with rowing finished by 2/2:30. We’ll split all athletes into groups on the day and people will row different distances depending on age/experience, etc. The bar will be open afterwards, showing the Ireland/England 6 nations game at 2:45.

Parents are all welcome to come down, there’ll be a BBQ ongoing as well, with cafe operating throughout the day. Evan will be putting up posters around the club this evening as a reminder to everyone.

Everyone’s support with this would be greatly appreciated, and if you have any questions just let me know. I’ll be around this evening and Saturday morning if anyone needs sponsorship cards, just let me know when your squad is down.

Thanks,

Dave
